Only the knowledge that, at age 751, I am not much longer for life on Earth mitigates my fear with respect to our country’s future.

I am probably the only card-carrying fiscal conservative in the country who is becoming more and more convinced that keeping President Ob
ma in office until 2017 is the best solution for getting us back to a land of the free and home of the brave with a government of, by and for the people.

The anti-American misfit of a president himself is not the answer for our nation, a fading nation in distress. Instead, he is the catalyst for advancing the status quo because if he is in the Oval Office another four years there will be real hell to pay in the form of an intellectual revolt when the sleeping giant – read voters – awakens.

The voters will awaken once enough realize what has hit them in the pocketbook. Growing our government rapidly with costly programs that individuals and private sector businesses, not the government, should fund smacks all of us in our pocketbooks.

I believe we taxpayers should pay our government to administer, with very few exceptions, programs private sector businesses and able-bodied citizens cannot do for themselves.  For example, only our government can maintain a strong defense and a sound infrastructure for the safety and comfort of its citizen. That rules out entitlement programs for purposes other than a safety net for people down on their luck for short periods.

With our current trend continuing, I am convinced Obama and future Obama think-a-likes will complete our journey to communism with a brief pass through socialism.

[In general, one can think of socialism as common ownership – not individual ownership – of the means of production. For a good understanding of our progression to communism, compare the contents of the Manifesto of the Communist Party-Chapter 2 to the events leading to the worsening condition of the United States today.]

Many among us will argue the United States remains far from communism or socialism. However, no fair-minded individual can argue successfully that we are not a country of American Socialism – a country churning out more and more costly government growing social programs that strain the lives of every working American who still pays income taxes.

[Readers might like reading about Eugene Debs, a man some consider the father of American Socialism, although my notion of American Socialism does not necessarily conform to the agenda of Mr. Debs.]

Astute followers of current events will understand why I refer to the United States as a country of American Socialism. The most obvious proof is, in my opinion, the nature of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care act, the act we call Obamacare.

Other than the seemingly million points of confusion and misrepresentations surrounding the act, it represents the only time in our history that I can find where we the people are required by the government to purchase anything or pay a penalty if we do not purchase. What more convincing evidence do we have our government is increasing its control over those of us paying the bills?

What I feared most – yes feared – got new life November 6, 2012. President Obama may not succeed in sending us on the way to communism but if those who reelected him do not have a change of values, he and subsequent like-minded liberal presidents will succeed once they have control of both chambers of Congress.

My subjective opinion is that Obama was reelected by career freeloaders, liberals and nonwhites who were uninformed and
bubbling over with apathy about the direction our country is moving. In so doing, they have contributed to our moving toward communism.

Career Freeloaders

Almost certainly, career freeloaders will be with us in 2016 and beyond as long as we the people elect national politicians who expand the number of entitlement programs and extend the length of benefit availability.

Obama has, by promising voters across the fruited plain all the free comforts of life they can get, encouraged those voters to open the door a little wider for American Socialism to walk through. Like “they” say, give ‘em an inch and they’ll take a mile. As career freeloaders want more and more freebies they will elect and reelect candidates who promise more and more freebies in an effort to become and remain career politicians.

Then we will grow our costly – costly to taxpayers – government even more. Socialism and communism will follow without a good-faith change of course. That’s a given. Do you not believe it? Look around for yourself. Less ambitious able-bodied people who have lost interest in supporting themselves once they see how easy it is to call upon the taxpayers for their daily bread are all around. I daresay we all know a handful.

Liberals

Another given is that liberals will be reluctant to vote for conservative candidates. However, that might change once they realize the importance of stopping Obama and his liberal think-a-likes from achieving his costly vision of giving everything to all. Once middle-class working liberals realize their pocketbooks are taking a big hit, something guaranteed if we allow Obama and future Obama act-a-likes to succeed, they might reassess their positions even though many will not openly admit they have “matured.”

Bill Mahr, speaking about income taxes and the Washington budget proposals, said as much while speaking for himself:

I just saw these statistics," he continued, "I mean, something like 70 percent. And here in California, I just want to say liberals - you could actually lose me. It's outrageous what we're paying - over 50 percent. I'm willing to pay my share, but yeah, it's ridiculous."

When Mr. Maher, a liberal, talks like this, it means a lot. Not only is he a liberal but he is the same Bill Maher who
pledged $1,000,000 to support Obama’s reelection effort. Could it be the man is maturing?

Nonwhites

Frightening to me is high percentage of nonwhites that voted for Obama in 2012. As with liberals, nonwhites can change. It seems to me that the number of taxpaying nonwhites voting for a liberal president will become smaller once informed nonwhites of all races and all ages begin to understand liberal politicians place an unconscionable burden upon our pocketbooks.

Sleeping giant

Until the sleeping giant – read indifferent voters – awakens and educates the career freeloaders, liberals and nonwhites, we will experience further increases in our debt, unemployment and entitlements including a growing number of costly government-growing giveaway programs paid by the 55% or so of Americans who work and pay federal income taxes. It is deplorable when fifty-five percent of the people support an entire population where many inhabitants can but do not want to work even when a sufficient number of jobs are available.

[Forbes has an interesting article written by Rick Ungar September 19, 2012 titled,

The Real Truth Behind The 47 Percent - Why Aren't These People Paying Federal Income Taxes?]

It is important to understand that until the sleeping giant awakens, liberal politicians will further dilute the effectiveness of our Constitution. They will do so by filling both the U.S. Supreme Court and lower federal courts with liberal justices. It is the people’s misfortune that appointed judges too often make decisions in line with the political views of appointing presidents instead truly serving people.

[U.S. Supreme Court ruling, No. 12-96 decided June 25, 2013, Shelby County, Alabama v Attorney General Holder, illustrates the point. The five justices appointed by Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush sided against the four justices appointed by Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.]

Whites

Whites – not all of course, but many – have contributed to putting Barack Obama in the Oval Office as well, not because they voted for Obama but because they did not vote at all.

America's blacks voted at a higher rate than other minority groups in 2012 and by most measures surpassed the white turnout for the first time, reflecting a deeply polarized presidential election in which blacks strongly supported Barack Obama while many whites stayed home.

Although not stated in this excerpt, I can easily infer that apathetic white voters, without understanding our Father of Transparency’s agenda, stayed home and played a role in electing Obama by allowing black voters to vote for “their guy.”

That these white voters jeopardize the well-being of all citizens because of racial beliefs and apathy does not bode well for the United States of America. At this point – late 2013 – the young probably do not know that without a large number of knowledgeable voters their future - a future of experiencing American Socialism - is bleak compared to life in the United States during the first 232 years (1776-2008) of our country's existence.
